This makes it a Federal crime or offense for anyone to use the United States mail in carrying out a scheme to defraud. The two teaching tips that I want you to take away today are (1) don’t go back and forth with your insurance company if their payout is ridiculously below industry standards low (like $3.19sq ft for Berber Carpet installed) just file a claim against your insurance company with the state insurance commissioner. Let the insurance company explain their logic to the insurance commissioner; and, (2) get a certified copy of your full policy.
